Robb Stavne (Company Owner)
M.Sc, P. Biol., RPBio - Senior Wildlife Specialist
Robb Stavne completed his M.Sc. at the University of Alberta in 2005 examining effects of cattle grazing on wetland bird communities in the Aspen Parkland. Since then, Robb has accumulated more than 20 years of experience as a wildlife ecologist working throughout western Canada. Robb works and volunteers with his community in Peace River to engage them in citizen science initiatives, and to promote awareness and conservation of wildlife and associated issues. Robb owns and operates Sora Ecological Consulting with staff distributed across Alberta and BC, working with industry, governments, and academics to navigate regulatory and conservation concerns amongst responsible development. When he is not in a helicopter or trudging through boreal peatlands, you will find him canoeing and fishing the rivers and lakes in North-west Alberta, hiking or skiing the back country, or spending time relaxing with friends and family.

Jason Leathem
M.Sc., RPBio -Senior Biologist
Jason is a seasoned biologist, who has taken a diverse path of post-secondary education and work to end up where he is today. His career began in 2007 following a Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation diploma from Lakeland College (LLC). Since then, Jason has worked with non-profit organizations, government, and the private sector, all while upgrading his educational experience. Completing a BASc in Environmental Management at LLC (2010), course updates at Thompson Rivers University (B.Sc equivalent) (2018), and a M.Sc in Environment and Management at Royal Roads University (2026). Jason is a qualified environmental professional in both aquatic and terrestrial biology, striving to safeguard the natural world by providing mitigative strategies, best management practices, and recommendations that meet regulatory standards for the projects he works on. When Jason is free, he is either in the outdoors (hiking, biking, camping, birding, fishing, skiing, etc.), hanging out with friends, or relaxing at home.

Richard Lambert
RPBio, P. Biol - Intermediate Biologist
Richard is a Wildlife Biologist with a keen interest in Herpetology, holding a MA from the University of Dundee, Scotland. His journey in environmental consultancy since 2016 has been driven by his dedication to wildlife conservation and wetland management under key regulatory acts. Leading several large scale wildlife and vegetation preservation projects across western Canada, he strives for excellence in his field and is particularly passionate about utilizing new technologies to obtain results. His roles have spanned from field leadership and project management to business development and safety coordination, all fueled by his passion for biology and a continuous desire to grow professionally. In his spare time, Richard loves to help his mentor at their rural farm and also loves backcountry camping and the culinary arts.

Athena Henderson
R.T. Biol (Pending) - Junior Biologist
Athena is a Métis Junior Biologist with 6 years of both academic and professional experience. Since completing her diploma in Conservation Biology at NAIT, she has gone on to work in both research and the private sector, which has expanded her practical knowledge of various disciplines within conservation ecology. Currently studying at the University of Alberta, she is working to complete her degree in the fall of 2026. In her free time, she pursues her artistic passions of photography, painting, and beadwork, inspired by Canada’s flora and fauna.

Téa Lanctôt
Administrative Assistant
Téa is currently a student pursuing university studies. She manages administrative tasks for Sora Ecological and has prior relevant work experience. Téa enjoys the passionate conservation environment at Sora, and learning about the various habitats and their wildlife.
Even though her role does not take her into the field, in her free time she enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors, music, and her pets. Téa loves spending time in Hard Luck Canyon near her home town in Woodlands County.

Evan Ball
B.Sc., RPBio (Pending) - Intermediate Biologist
Evan Ball is a versatile biologist with strong field skills. After completing a BSc in Wildlife & Fisheries Management at the University of Northern British Columbia in 2021, he has gone on to participate and lead on a variety of wildlife, fisheries, and environmental projects for both industry and government. He has a professional focus on large mammals and birds, but is in love with all aspects of biology. Most recently, he has helped several large mineral exploration firms draft and implement environmental programs to mitigate work-related risks to wildlife.
Evan is an avid outdoorsman with a passion for conservation, and has a background in maritime search and rescue. He resides outside of Prince George, British Columbia, where he misses the Pacific Ocean. He is happiest when counting animals from a helicopter.

Alyssa St.Amour
BTT (Pending) - Junior Biologist
Alyssa is a Junior Biologist who graduated with Diploma in Environmental Management from Okanagan College (2021). As an environmental professional early in her career, her passion for sustainability drives her to meaningfully support the protection and restoration of natural systems.
She has hands-on experience in vegetation control, urban planning, and forest restoration, including participation in multiple tree-planting contracts across Western Canada. Alyssa brings a strong work ethic, adaptability in field environments, and enjoys contributing to collaborative projects with communities. Her professional interests include ecology, entomology, botany, and forestry, and she is continually working to expand her knowledge across all areas of biology.
Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys volunteering, exploring local trails with her camera, or curling up with a good book.

Charles Stavne
P.Dog
Charles has no formal training, however he is getting to be quite the professional through direct experience. Charles lists himself as as expert in several vocations including:
Expert duck chaser, frog sniffer, deer chaser, coyote pee post connoisseur. He is able to swim in all waters no matter how muddy so long as its not deeper than his tippy toes can reach, and preferably just before jumping back into the truck. Experienced canoe rider, experienced ATV passenger. Expert side by side passenger. Squirrel chaser. Remote field pooper. Spicy Sky Raisin biter. First Aid (licking it better) certified.
When not actively engaged in field work, you can find Charles napping in the sun, eating cheese, or honing his professional experiences in a more relaxed setting.
